How to Make Your Competition Irrelevant: Chris Ducker on Glimpse TV

There’s something about a man with a British accent that simply makes everything he says sound that much smarter.

It doesn’t hurt that, with or without the accent, Chris Ducker is brilliant when it comes to taking yourself out of the rat race of business so that you can enjoy true freedom.

After getting totally burned out from working too much in his business on everything from graphic design to content creation to web copy, Chris realized something needed to change.

Feeling exhausted, he put a goal in place to become a Virtual CEO. Within a year he’d hired 8 people to do each of the things he had been doing himself. He also launched another company in the middle of that year, Virtual Staff Finder, because he was listening to the needs of his audience.

Now he works an average of 6 hours a day, 4 days a week, as opposed to his previous 14 hours a day, 6 days a week.

He’s a proud dad of three kids, a happy husband, and the bestselling author of Virtual Freedom: How to Work with Virtual Staff to Buy More Time, Become More Productive, and Build Your Dream Business.

I sat down with Chris to ask him about being a Virtual CEO, how to make the competition irrelevant, and how to stop being such a control freak when it comes to running a business.

In our Glimpse TV episode he reveals:

  • How to let go of control and embrace freedom instead
  • The 2 things you need to be focused on if you’re building an online brand
  • The few vital things he focuses on in his business that not only make the competition irrelevant but that he also loves
  • What Richard Branson says about training people that ensures they’ll keep delivering amazing results but never leave you
  • How to prioritize the 3 most important things about running a business
  • The surprising thing that’s freaking him out right now
  • His definition of freedom

My “Stop-doing” List (thanks Marie + Danielle)

I’m super jazzed to be attending an event lead by two of my favorite women of all time (who I brag I had a little bit to do with connecting), Marie Forleo and Danielle LaPorte. Come hang with me in NYC. It’s called Selling Your Soul and it’s on May 12th in downtown New York…
