It’s just about time for a midyear review for your business.
Why? Do you remember the beginning of January? Me neither.
So much has happened since then! Some of our company goals have changed and a lot of our plans have.
But our mission to help ambitious women have powerful, abundant, energizing businesses did not…and our desire to continue to expand our capacity to do that on a larger scale also didn’t.
How about you?
Do you remember the goals you set at the beginning of the year (if you did at all? We’re not judging. We don’t find goal setting the old school way super helpful anyway which is why we teach a different, more aligned way in The Origin Membership.)
Whether your goals and plans have changed since the beginning of the year or not, I’m sharing the steps we’re taking here at The Origin Company as a midyear review so that we stay aligned, abundant, and energized in the way we work and the results our customers get.
Here’s a Midyear Review Check-List that you can follow along with:
- Review the goals you set at the beginning of the year (if you did.)
- Do your goals still feel aligned?
- If so, are you on track to hit them?
- If yes, awesome!
- If no, what do you need to do get on track? Is there a new energy you could embody in the way you’re working towards them? Is there a different strategy you could try or could you tweak the strategy you’re already using? Is there anything you’re doing that you could eliminate because it’s distracting you from achieving your goals?
- If not, take some time to set goals that feel more aligned to you. (If you need help with this, there’s a great exercise called How to Set Goals in Alignment with the Truth of Who You Are that’s part of the Do Less Planner.)
- If so, are you on track to hit them?
- Do your goals still feel aligned?
- What’s working in your business right now? What are you doing that makes you and/or your team feel powerful and energized? Think about the following categories to get you started: systems, team, offerings, finances, scheduling, customers, marketing, etc.
- How can you add even more of what’s working to your business?
- What’s not working in your business right now? What are you doing that makes and/or your team you feel less powerful or drained? Use the categories above as a starting point.
- What can you eliminate based on your answers from the question above? What changes can you make that will turn what’s not working into something that is working?
- What’s the most important thing you need to focus on between now and the end of the year to ensure you feel amazing about what your business has accomplished this year?
- What do you need to put in place to make focusing on this most important thing inevitable?
Going through this midyear review checklist will give you so much clarity as to how to allocate your precious time and energy between now and the end of the year.
I know you might feel like you don’t have time to answer these questions or that you’ll get to them later (either do them now or mark an hour in your calendar in the next week to make sure you actually do), but here’s what I want to remind you of:
The wisest business owners are the ones who slow down to course-correct in a predictable cadence that supports their dreams and ambitions.
