Love & Money: The Secret to Finally Feeling Held

For years, I thought feeling fully supported—financially, emotionally, in love—was something that would finally click when everything outside me finally lined up:

✔ When our revenue hit a certain number.
✔ When Mike was fully healthy and back in action.
✔ When I finally felt like I’d done enough.

But no matter how much money came in or how much love was offered, there was this gnawing feeling that I was carrying it all alone. That it was never quite enough to make me exhale.

Then I had a realization (honestly, more like a reckoning):

I was trying to get my needs met by money, Mike, or my to-do list instead of tending to my own internal void.

And no amount of money or love from Mike—or anyone else—could fill a space that could only be filled from within.

I see this all the time with folks in our community. We think the exhale will come when we earn more, save more, or finally figure it out. But if our nervous system is wired for scarcity, it doesn’t matter what’s in our bank account—peace will always feel just out of reach.

The real shift? Learning to feel deeply supported from the inside, first.

When I started tending to that inner safety—releasing the patterns that kept me feeling alone in love and responsible for everything—everything changed. I could finally receive all the support that had been available from Mike all along. Money started flowing in easier ways. I stopped gripping so hard, and paradoxically, that’s when things finally started to feel like enough.

(This is exactly why I love my friend Christine Hassler’s work—because whether it’s love or money, the patterns that keep us from receiving are deeply intertwined. Tune into the replay of the the IG live we did last week all about love and money and opening up to receive what you deserve in both areas!)

So, what if the feeling of being held you crave isn’t something to chase—but something to cultivate?

What’s one small way you can take to feel held from within today? Maybe it’s laying down on the bare Earth and letting your body be fully supported. Maybe it’s noticing how gravity’s got you all day, every day. Maybe it’s using your favorite nervous system tool to signal safety to your body.

Try it. Notice how it shifts things—even if just a little.

With love & plenty,
Kate
