“You Probably Have Parasites”: The Money Reframe Nobody Wants to Hear with Sinclair Kennally (177)

Listen on…

What if the symptoms you’ve been trying to get rid of are actually your body trying to protect and heal you?

In this episode, Kate sits down with detox and root-cause health expert Sinclair Kennally for a deeply personal conversation about chronic illness, mold, parasites, and what it really means to become the CEO of your own health. Sinclair shares her own journey from slowly losing her ability to function to becoming bedridden, believing she was going to die, and ultimately rebuilding her health from the ground up.

Their stories are also uniquely intertwined. Kate shares how Sinclair and her husband Michael became instrumental in helping Mike recover during his severe health crisis in 2021. Together, they unpack why seemingly healthy people can suddenly become extremely sick, the relationship between the nervous system and immune system, and Sinclair’s belief that symptoms aren’t simply problems to silence—they can be part of the body’s healing response.

They also get practical about two topics that are often misunderstood: mold and parasites. Sinclair explains why exposure can affect far more than digestion or allergies, some of the symptoms she associates with parasites, and why she believes jumping straight into “killing” protocols without first supporting the body’s drainage, energy, and detox pathways can make people feel worse.

Finally, Kate and Sinclair bring the conversation back to money, exploring the surprising parallels between physical parasites and financial codependency. They examine what can happen when generosity becomes a way to earn love, why healing can change our relationships, and what becomes possible when we stop giving our life force to people, patterns, and circumstances that only take.

“The nervous system and the immune system are so deeply intertwined, it is a false construct to describe them as separate.”   – Sinclair Kennally

Sinclair Kennally: But symptoms are not just something has gone wrong. It’s not just the alarm system. It’s actually the body’s own healing response. And remember, your body doesn’t make mistakes. It’s telling you the truth, and you can trust it.

It’s on your side.

Kate Northrup: This episode is all about your body, and it’s not gonna be what you’ve heard before when it comes to your health. I am sitting with Sinclair Kennally, who is one of the world’s leading experts on detox, regeneration, and rejuvenation. She was a client of mine back in 2019. And then she and her partner, well, her now husband, Michael, were part of what saved part of the collection of practices and people who saved Mike’s life when he was really, really sick in 2021. And so in this episode, we talk about what happened with Mike.

We talk about Sinclair’s unbelievably mind blowing story of going from being completely incapacitated to full healing. Why detox is not what you think it is. We get into mold. We get into parasites. We get into my own journey with mold and parasites, and what we can all be doing and the most common misconceptions around these topics.

And we also get into how our health is inextricably linked with our wealth. Sinclair has helped thousands and thousands of people with mystery illnesses regain their lives, their life force, their health. And she also helps people like me who are not struggling, but who want to live as optimally as possible in bodies that feel amazing. And so if that’s you across the spectrum anywhere, then this episode is for you. Enjoy Sinclair Kennally.

Welcome to Plenty, a weekly recalibration of power, money, and safety for high capacity humans. I’m Kate Northrup, bestselling author and creator of Relaxed Money. Strategy. This is the sacred conversation at the intersection of money, the body, and the life you’re truly here to live. If you’re ready to reimagine what’s possible for yourself and for the world, you’re in

Sinclair Kennally: the right place. Let’s go.

Kate Northrup: Hi, Sinclair. Hi. Thanks for being here. This is so special. It’s my honor.

Yeah. I’m really excited. Your story is very intertwined with my family story in quite a personal way that’s unusual for my guests on the show. You know us in a strange way, so we’ll get into that. And I I can’t wait to dive deeper on that.

But before we get into that, I wanna know and I know threads of this story, but actually, I’m really excited to hear it today because I don’t know your whole health story, which you can tell in whatever version you want today. I know that when we’ve been through stuff, it can feel sometimes really annoying to rehash it. So whatever version you wanna tell. But you and I met, I think not that long after in many ways you had been resurrected.

Sinclair Kennally: That’s a good way to say it. Yeah.

Kate Northrup: From the depths of an intense health journey that was also intertwined with family and business, whatever. So you’ll tell about whatever parts you want, but you and I met in 2019. You joined no, 2018. End of twenty eighteen. You Yeah, joined my

Sinclair Kennally: that’s great.

Kate Northrup: You joined my first ever mastermind. So cute. And you were an amazing client. And we worked through a lot of great stuff together. But what had happened in the years just leading up to that?

Because I didn’t realize when I met you what you had just been through.

Sinclair Kennally: So it took me a long time to figure this out, you know, and looking back, it all makes sense, but anybody who’s been through a chronic illness journey, there’s a lot of reverse engineering of like, what happened? What went wrong? Because it usually comes on so slowly. And that’s actually what’s so scary about it is that you you walk a little less far each day. It’s like aging, but it’s happening too early.

And you get a little more sensitive, and the food list that you can eat gets smaller and smaller. And it happens so slowly that by the time you hit a health crisis, your world has already shrunk for years and years, and you didn’t realize it. And you start chucking those things up to, like, stress or age, or it’s your temperament, like your personality becomes about managing your symptoms. And so what I didn’t realize is that has been happening to me, you know, since early childhood, and then big flares of it during teenage years, and huge flares of it in my twenties. And so I would and I have a very, like, creative personality, so I would push myself and challenge and run at things, and then I would suddenly hit the brick wall.

And I thought that was just my personality, and it was not. It was really nothing special. It was exposure to mold and heavy metals and, you know, some infections when I was young and following a vaccine schedule, I could see very clearly when you look back, like, oh, these injuries happened on the same schedule, actually. My nervous system shifts, my dietary shifts, my texture weirdnesses, the depression, the anxiety that came on right after they put in my first amalgam fillings. Like, it’s the American story that we’re all living, so it’s nothing special, you know?

My health didn’t get my attention until I ended up in the hospital because I thought I was having a heart attack. And I was living my dream life. I was, you know, I had just met Michael, we had fallen in love, he just asked me to move in with him, which I did. You know, I was like, I don’t think you’re gonna like me once you see me that often, okay, let’s try

Kate Northrup: it. And

Sinclair Kennally: I was actually running my own mastermind, teaching health practitioners how to go online and busy practice. And I thought, this is it. I’m living my dream life. And then I ended up in the hospital. And I remember very clearly the hospitalist getting a little excited.

They’re like, oh, it’s like we got a live one here. Let’s unpack this. And I thought how weird that was to have that response. And they thought I was having a heart attack too. It turns out I wasn’t.

They did MRIs and CAT scans and all sorts of things, lots of blood work. And, you know, the hours and the days were shifting by, and they were starting to get really annoyed that I was still asking questions. And I was still there, taking up a bed, bedridden, unable to eat, feeling like for all intents and purposes, this is the end. But there was nothing to cut out. There was nothing broken on the labs enough.

And I actually walked out of there thinking I was going home to die. Yeah. And I wish I could say it was like a fast recovery from there, but it was not. It was very slow, lots of trial and error, lots of trying to see specialists, nothing like I didn’t get out of bed for six months after that. I wrote goodbye letters to my family.

I tried to commit suicide, and Michael wouldn’t let me. It was very ugly. And what I remind people now is that I’m inherently lazy about self care. Like, don’t really like, I’m not into it, you know? I’m just not.

And I don’t care about like being the thinnest or the prettiest or like the anti aging, like reverse your biological age. Like, I’m never going to be that influencer. I don’t care. Come and stack for my peptides. You know, like, that’s not me.

I don’t care. What I care about is your soul feel at home in your body. And mine did not. So I was like, well, I just want to go home, and I want to go back to God. Why did you do this to me?

And it took a long time because the natural health practitioners were so sweet, but useless, you know, and the medical doctors were so mean.

Kate Northrup: Also useless.

Sinclair Kennally: Yes. Also useless. So it was, a very arduous journey.

Kate Northrup: What was actually, I mean, you felt awful. So at first you thought you were having a heart attack. You were having like, how did it manifest? Or maybe the answer would be, or question would be how did it not manifest? Because it sounds like it was sort of everything.

But can you describe to me what it felt like to be inside your body at that time?

Sinclair Kennally: I went from going to being like a little sensitive as a kid and a little chemically sensitive, a little rashy with new clothes, picky about food, picky eater, sensitive. To my lowest point, I was down to three foods for a very long time. I couldn’t move my hands. Like, had to tape my hands with popsicle sticks at night to try to go to sleep because if I didn’t, it would take me hours and hours to unclench them during the day. So I would drive to work without hands on the steering wheel.

Wouldn’t get in my car, he called it the death trap, which, you know, that’s fair. Fair. So I would drive with kind of my elbows and my wrists. I couldn’t stand for more than a couple minutes. I had no idea what was going on.

So a lot of my personality was about hiding my symptoms and pretending to follow along because my brain was gone. And what they were telling me was that psychosomatic, you’re losing your mind, you should be medicated because of all your traumas. And then because I’d been homeless for a little while, and I’ve been sexually assaulted as a child and as a teen. And so they’re like, yeah. Your your body’s just shutting down because of that.

So here’s some pills. You’re a problem. Get out of my office. Mhmm. And I couldn’t read an email or write a sentence.

I was that dumb. Like, it was gone. And then I got this diagnosis that felt like, oh, now I’m finally understood. It’s Lyme. Lyme’s eating my brain.

Lyme’s eating my joints and fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis and Hashimoto’s and like the labels kept coming, but it wasn’t a pathway out. And every time you get a new label, it’s like this false win of like, oh, I’m seen. It’s not crazy. I finally suffered enough to burn a diagnosis. Yes.

Then I would realize, then they would talk about symptom management. Well, there’s not really recovery with this disease. It’s more about managing decline. And I was getting told things like, you might have MS because this is going really fast. So let’s do, like, a lot of injection therapies, and let’s spend your last remaining dollars on that.

And otherwise, you might end up in a wheelchair by the time you’re 35.

Kate Northrup: Wow. So you were in your early thirties at this point?

Sinclair Kennally: Was mid to late twenties and early thirties. Yeah. Through that. Yeah. Okay.

Kate Northrup: It was bad. It wasn’t was dark. And what was if there was a turning point or a series of awakenings where you discovered essentially what became what you now do? I mean, I know obviously your and Michael’s story are the root of where everything you do comes from. So what was that?

How did you figure out the

Sinclair Kennally: directions to let me die. And so we we he’s an amazing researcher.

Kate Northrup: Mhmm.

Sinclair Kennally: And I had given up. I was like, whether fast or slow, I’m out of here, bud. Let’s try again next time because I’m done. He kept coming up with these little glimmers, and we would find, like, the one mercury guy that was talking about, like, why is your mercury high? And did you know that that can impact your nervous system?

Did you know that creates light and sound sensitivity? That can even create the tinnitus you’re experiencing that they’re telling you is psychosomatic. You know? Oh, what about this mold piece? Yeah.

Why is nobody talking about mold? Well, our basement’s been flooding every winter.

Kate Northrup: Talking about mold, but you were an early receiver of the mold toxicity or an early I’m so

Sinclair Kennally: thrilled that people are finally catching on, although it’s very scary because most of them are doing it wrong.

Kate Northrup: Okay. We’re gonna talk about that

Sinclair Kennally: in a We’ll do it. We’ll talk about later.

Kate Northrup: There’s so many things. Okay. So Michael was fighting for your life.

Sinclair Kennally: Yeah. Well, he was chronically ill. Uh-huh. Because he had mast cell activation syndrome. Like, if he did one thing wrong, his skin would peel and pull apart, and his brain would be gone.

And he would fly into an anxiety or a rage or a depression. Like, he couldn’t sleep. He was choking every night, had crazy parasite symptoms. Nobody ever told us this was parasites. You know?

So we had to and it was so cute because he would discover something and I would fight him and say, that’s dumb. I hate it. I’m not doing that. And he would, you know, really figure out the best practices and experiment on himself and finally convince me to do it. But like, he would be pulling out three foot long snakes out of his ass.

Oh, can I say that on your podcast? Yeah. Sorry. And I was in so much denial.

Kate Northrup: Everyone listening is like Wow. When people listen right now, it’s like, I’m sorry. What did I just press play on? Oh, there’s gonna be more. There’s gonna be more play.

Sinclair Kennally: But I, like, had so much denial. Was like, that’s really sucks for you that you’re going through that. Uh-huh. And then you would have to convince me and show me. And when we decided to take this to the world was we we had both arduously figured out a step at a time.

Like, if only we’d had this piece years earlier, but everybody was so siloed, the health experts back then across different continents and so disconnected. We’re like, if you don’t if you’re missing even one of these pieces, it could cost you years of your life, which is not okay. Which is not okay. Yeah.

Kate Northrup: I’m considering where I wanna go next because there’s so many places. I’m actually gonna jump to Okay, so then 2018, you saw one Instagram post of mine. Oh yeah. You joined my mastermind, which I know actually did help your business, which we can talk about, but I’m pretty sure the actual reason that you joined is to later save my husband’s life. And as you know, in 2021, he got so sick.

And he texted you randomly, which is hilarious because you were helping some mountain biker that he was obsessed with. Remember? Yes. Oh, that’s very niche. Mike goes down these rabbit holes and he goes becomes deeply obsessed with obscure athletes.

I mean, not to say that mountain biking isn’t incredibly impressive. It’s just not like a

Sinclair Kennally: It’s not in major consciousness.

Kate Northrup: Correct. Mhmm. So the guy to be helping You have to be helping this guy. I don’t even remember the scenario. But anyway I don’t actually was texting you for some bizarre reasons.

Yeah. And he sent you a picture of his skin. And having since 2018, when he got sick, really sick for the first time, having been down every potential avenue for healing that we could think of, eventually in 2018, he just sort of, like, got better on his own, but then it came back with a vengeance in 2021. So he texts you this picture of his skin, and you were the first person to say, Oh yeah, I can help you with that. No problem.

And it was for our family. It was such a sigh of relief because not to say that we can outsource our healing and say someone else is going to fix this for me, but to have a guide who felt sure that they knew what would help pull this up at the roots, which it did. And we can we can talk about that. But, but many of the people listening have heard our story. And so I just want to make it super clear that it was working with Sinclair and Michael that turned it around for Mike.

And he’s been I mean, we just have gone through an incredibly stressful season. Oh, blessings. You know? Blessings, but moving Glow ups. Launch, you know, like stuff we asked for.

But in the past, when we would go through that, he would get a flare and go down for a period of time. And we have now been through multiple moves, multiple intense seasons, and he’s fine. He’s like more than fine. He’s fine. He’s so healthy.

Right?

Sinclair Kennally: So wonderful.

Kate Northrup: It’s so wonderful. So thank you, number one.

Sinclair Kennally: It’s an honor.

Kate Northrup: When you got that I mean, you may not remember the exact moment, but when you got that photo of Mike’s skin and for anybody who’s new, his skin was just falling off over and over and over again. And you dropped 40 pounds in one month, and he was in excruciating pain and could barely function. His whole like, he just was so low energy and just his skin was falling off. I mean, it’s disgusting.

Sinclair Kennally: Yeah. It’s so painful.

Kate Northrup: How did do you remember when you saw it, what you knew it was and why you were like, oh, Inma, may I help you?

Sinclair Kennally: Yeah. What? Well, I mean, our whole practice is that it’s like mystery people.

Kate Northrup: Mystery people. You get all sorts of All the weird sick people. Who’ve gone to everyone else.

Sinclair Kennally: We call them pioneers.

Kate Northrup: And what you know, and what so so what Mike was suffering from was so multifactorial, and certainly we could unpack that. But ultimately, it was a perfect storm, and I also believe a spiritual awakening.

Sinclair Kennally: Of course.

Kate Northrup: But it was topical steroid withdrawal. It was known as red man syndrome. If you were looking for a diagnosis, of course, there were so many factors to it. And every traditional doctor he went to said, you should go on steroids. And he was like, mother effer, are you kidding me right now?

Have you listened to any part of my story in which I have told you that the reason I’m suffering like this is because of getting off those things? Like or taking them in the first place, not getting off them.

Sinclair Kennally: Yeah. Because there’s a price to pay for those. There is And

Kate Northrup: the bill

Sinclair Kennally: will come due.

Kate Northrup: That bill will come due. And it takes a good seven years probably to get them out of your system.

Sinclair Kennally: Yeah. And that’s if you’re doing it right.

Kate Northrup: Yeah. I think we’re, you know, because Mike’s first major flare was 2018, as I think, you know, he broke out in full body rash the moment Ruby was born. And so now we’re, yeah, now we’re eight years out. Okay, so you look at the skin you’re like, I know what that is, I can help you. Why did you know that?

What was going on with him? What’s going on with most people that they don’t know about when they’re the pioneers, the weird sick people who come find you because no one else knows what to do with them?

Sinclair Kennally: Yeah, let’s have a reframe. Canaries in the coal mine.

Kate Northrup: Yeah,

Sinclair Kennally: totally. And you heal yourself when you decide I’m going to become the CEO of my own health. And that’s why we call them pioneers because they’re going roll up their own sleeves and they’re going to rebuild their bodies themselves. But you can say whatever you want.

Kate Northrup: I just want to make sure people feel hurt. Of course. And really celebrated because in our family, there were some patterns that needed to be broken that would not have been broken had Mike not gotten so sick. Isn’t that beautiful? He did that on behalf of our family system and God bless him because he suffered.

Sinclair Kennally: That gives me But wouldn’t know so what he chose. From

Kate Northrup: unconscious patterns that we’re running are and not unconscious, but just to be super clear, not unconscious patterns of like we were eating Twinkies and like, you know, mainlining toxic cleaning products. Like, we live on just to be clear. Mike and I are health nuts. Like, we were not people Yeah. Who are out here eating the standard American diet.

Like, we don’t drink. We don’t do drugs. We don’t you may be a little psilocybin here and there. I was like, you know what I mean? Not like real drugs.

Anyways, so carry on. So you what’s going on? Well, anything with the What’s going on with people? What is happening? What is happening?

Do perfectly healthy people all of a sudden

Sinclair Kennally: Yeah. Go down. First of all, I think you said a couple of really profound things. One of the things that struck me about Mike’s story was that this came on when he was afraid for your safety during your labor. And so there’s a big nervous system component to it, right?

And the nervous system and the immune system are so deeply intertwined, it is a false construct to describe them as separate. They are not. You know, they are two lovers. They’re two sides of the same coin. And your body is so brilliant in its innate intelligence about there’s a threat, and it might be on the inside and also might be on the outside.

And your body’s gonna tell you. And the more self aware we are, the more we can listen while it’s still a whisper and not a shout. But symptoms are not just something has gone wrong. It’s not just the alarm system. It’s actually the body’s own healing response.

We just don’t find it comfortable.

Kate Northrup: Okay. Yes. So all those symptoms, the reframe is they’re not actually the problem. They’re your body’s They’re not the healing problem. Coming on board.

Sinclair Kennally: Yes. Okay. Yes. So whether it’s postnasal drip or bloating or constipation or especially diarrhea or constipation or, irritability or brain fog, like it is part of the healing response. It doesn’t matter how gross it is.

Healing is disgusting. Bodies are gross. Welcome. You know, I always say, beloved is the body for it is the vessel of the soul. And speaking of somebody that didn’t want to have a body for most of my life, unfortunately, that is my work to teach that.

You know? And what my illness did for me, I think is what it does for anybody, including Mike, is illness is an initiation into the deeper self. It is the pathway to expansion for all of us. It’s not that we’re doing something wrong. It is the waking up.

Something is already off, and now we’re going to awaken into expansion. And you can either embrace it because the tools are there or you can fight it. But if you are held through the process, there’s a suck factor that you can’t get over, but that’s also part of the deepening, you know? Like I was in there’s no word strong enough for how lazy I was about taking care of my body, how wimpy I was about being able to withstand someone else’s emotions, and how quickly I would self abandon to make someone else feel good and give all my life force to that, to my family, to my friends, to my employees, to, of course, to my clients. And there’s no other thing that could have cured me of that except for a very profound illness.

My body’s like, nope, you’re going to get useless. And you’re going to find out that you’re lovable anyway. You know? And as a Virgo, who needs to be useful?

Kate Northrup: Totally.

Sinclair Kennally: And that’s what I think about when I think about Mike’s story, is the nervous system and the immune system entwined in this full five alarm response of things have to change, there’s something wrong on the inside and the outside, and because that’s where the skin is. And we always think about the skin as the second liver. So liver can’t keep up, keep up with what? What has been built up? You know?

And you know, when you look back at Mike’s exposures and his life history, it’s not just the pharmaceuticals, you know, the steroids, the topicals, although those are really, really hard on your liver and that’s a big part of the withdrawal process. But it’s also, you know, the prior exposures to mold and his early work in construction, the bill comes due at some point.

Kate Northrup: Working at Philip Morris in a manufacturing bay, making cigarettes, not to mention over a decade of heavy drinking and drug use. Right. So, yeah, it was a lot of layers. And, you know, and of course we’re talking about Mike without being here- without him being here, but he has told his story times. Had a great episode that, people loved called addiction- the- something about the invitation in illness and addiction- I don’t know.

Anyway, we’ll link it in the show notes. We’ll find it. Where he told this story. So I’m not, you know, I’m not talking about it behind his back. But Yeah.

He also, like you said, with that Virgo of of who am I if I’m not useful? And really getting that he is good enough when he is simply being. Like his presence is enough. He doesn’t have to be running the show and being of service and doing every single thing. Like, it’s fine if he’s just laying on the couch, it’s fine if he’s just sitting, listening, you know, all of those things.

So, okay. We had, once we got into it, first we started with Mike, right? Well, actually I had done this program called Rapid Something Something, which was great. And I got super on the coffee enemas. I, like, brought my own all along, and I was like, we’re doing this thing.

Got all this, you know, was making my own, like, I don’t know, some sort of suppositories. Who knows what I was putting in there? It was great. I was doing all the things because I go, if I’m going to do something, I am so deeply committed. I went hard and Mike was literally like WTF.

I don’t even know what’s happening over there, but then come to 2021, it was his turn. And so getting under the surface, we really discovered, I think we had had mold in our house in Maine, even though it was a brand new build, right? So people have this assumption that mold is old houses and only from water damage. Nope. We had a brand new, gorgeous, stunning home.

I am pretty sure we had mold in there. I’ve never had it tested.

Sinclair Kennally: We don’t think there

Kate Northrup: any more, but that makes sense. And then certainly parasites, and then we’ll talk about that. And then that’s a really fun conversation. And anytime I bring it up, people are like, what are you talking about? This is not a common conversation.

And if it is, I think most people are doing parasite cleanses wrong. So we are then definitely going to address that. We talked about the liver piece. I’m sure there might be some other pieces, but we’re going to start with, I think that what is probably true is that people, a lot of health minded people are aware they have mold. A lot of health minded people are aware of the parasite issue, but they are addressing them quote unquote wrong.

Right. I’ll just say not in the most effective manner. Yeah. What are the ways that most people are addressing mold and parasites that are not the most effective?

Sinclair Kennally: Okay. So Let’s get real practical here. I love this.

Kate Northrup: And then maybe later we can open the Akashic records. This is what I love about you Sinclair is like you really can go all the places and all the layers are built in because so many people are either dealing fully only with the three d where it’s like it’s only the body. It’s only supplements. It’s only your toxic burden. Or they’re like, it’s only your emotions.

It’s only your It’s nervous only energetics. It’s only, you know, whatever. And I love that you really bring them both, though I think probably people get incredible results if they’re only dealing with the three d. Like, do

Sinclair Kennally: you right,

Kate Northrup: let’s see. Subtle subtly bring in anyway, carry on. Carry on. What are what are people doing wrong when it comes to mold and parasites?

Sinclair Kennally: Well, there’s a mold masquerade and a parasite masquerade. So we need to start there. Most people think of mold illness as, oh, that’s asthma, wheezing, allergies, right, or a postnasal drip. But, actually, it’s a full body assault on your immune system, and this is ground zero for your immune system right here. So For audio listeners,

Kate Northrup: Sinclair is pointing to her face.

Sinclair Kennally: I’m waving emphatically

Kate Northrup: at the sinuses. Got it.

Sinclair Kennally: Oh, four pairs. And so the sinuses being ground zero for your immune system and in a very real way your nervous system, your body is deciding whether or not you’re under threat when you’re taking in every breath. And if you’re breathing in mold spores and mold fragments and mycotoxins, which are the poisons that mold makes, then you are getting directly poisoned right through your olfactory nerve to your brain. This is a cute little, like, three inch long shortcut highway to the brain. It’s so close and so can create a full body response almost instantly for people.

And so if you’ve ever walked into a building and been like, there’s bad vibes here, was it paranormal?

Kate Northrup: Or was it molds? Or was Is it it ghosts or is it molds?

Sinclair Kennally: Yeah. And, you know, it took me a long time to develop that spidey sense because I felt bad all the time, you know? But now I can walk in and be like, yep, this is not for me, and turn right on around, you know? And that’s what our bodies are doing. So when you breathe in something like that, you’re getting poisoned, and so your body is doing something absolutely appropriate.

It’s a very logical response. So your immune system and your nervous system work in concert immediately. Let’s go into a stress mode. Let’s go into threat detection mode. Let’s go into defense.

We’re not gonna make energy. We’re not gonna detox. We’re not gonna drain. We’re not gonna digest. Those sound important, don’t they?

Yeah. And so that those exposures are small, but they happen over time. Like, when I look back at my life, I had over 11 that I know of for sure. And it wasn’t the first one that took me down. You know?

Are you talking about molds?

Kate Northrup: Mold exposures.

Sinclair Kennally: Yes. Yes. So most people when they’re when they’re doing mold wrong, they’re thinking about it in this very isolated way, and they want a quick fix, and they’re not thinking about how much their body’s been on the back foot and for how many years or decades. You’ve had compromised ability to digest, so to absorb your nutrients, to self regulate with your nervous system, to do repair work. Mold easily colonizes in the body.

It’s hard to test for that efficiently and effectively at scale commercially, But think about the optics of this. Mold is coming in. It loves dark, wet places. Most of the toxic ones are hydrophilic. It’s like, what is your body

Kate Northrup: but a cold, dark place? Right. The whole thing. Or a warm, dark place. You know?

Sinclair Kennally: Yeah. Yeah. We wanna think about that. And most people are ignoring energy production needs and how malnourished you are and how dysregulated your nervous system is in this process. So what I can’t stand online about this mold conversation right now is how hard they make it sound.

First of all, I think that a lot of the bigger voices in the health space are big because they’re dramatic, and so they’re great for a clip, but they’re not the person to hold the space for you and walk you through the process. And there are very real emotional ups and downs to excreting poison out of the body. So you actually have an ethical obligation to design a detox well, and most practitioners don’t know how to do that. They took a weekend CEU course, or they took a supplement company’s guidance at face value, and that was the end of the conversation. And they’re trying their best, but they don’t have the background education.

So mold exposure is multisystemic, whether it came in through your food, we should talk about if we have time, or environmentally. I have to say this because most people are getting poisoned by their food right now and they don’t know it. Because glyphosate getting sprayed on crops weakens the plant’s immune defense system. And so mold is actually getting taken up through the root system, and it’s infecting your harvest before it even comes off of the plant. It’s not just about what happens in storage and processing.

Okay. So it’s a shift in

Kate Northrup: So our food obviously anything that’s being sprayed with glyphosate, which is hard to avoid, but

Sinclair Kennally: And cross contamination. And cross contamination.

Kate Northrup: So what foods should we be looking out for in particular? This

Sinclair Kennally: is why people who go gluten free, but still eat a lot of gluten replacement foods don’t feel good because you’re still eating soy and corn as replacements, which are very inflammatory. Right? And usually heavily sprayed with pesticides and herbicides.

Kate Northrup: Is this true of even organic crops? Well, there’s some crop drift. Of

Sinclair Kennally: course. So, you know, like some field stuff show

Kate Northrup: that and also it’s in the water. And at this point, we’re

Sinclair Kennally: just kind hydration cycle. And you can spray up to 25 chemicals. Actually, it’s more now on an organic crop and still call it organic. There’s

Kate Northrup: lots Including glyphosate?

Sinclair Kennally: And that’s a lot of workarounds. No. Okay. But other stuff. But other stuff.

And legumes, grains. Peanuts for sure, which I but know is a

Kate Northrup: not everyone knows that.

Sinclair Kennally: Not everybody knows that. Yeah. Yeah. And nuts are another one. You know, patulin is a mycotoxin.

So that’s a mold poison that’s famously, you know, crops up on apples. So we had one woman down to three foods. She was eating organic applesauce every day. It was one of the few things she could tolerate. She was really high in patulin.

She did not want to get off of that. She thought it was keeping her alive. But she had a huge reduction in symptoms within days after stopping them.

Kate Northrup: Wow.

Sinclair Kennally: And so we don’t understand the quality of our food is so different now. And I’m not saying this to shame anybody, we’re all just doing our best.

Kate Northrup: A 100%. But what we can do

Sinclair Kennally: with this information is decide to become our own health detectives. And remember your body doesn’t make mistakes. It doesn’t make mistakes. And so it’s telling you the truth and you can trust it. It’s on your side.

So if you don’t feel good, there is such a good reason for that, you know, and it’s not your fault.

Kate Northrup: Right. Your body is doing you a favor by pointing you in the direction of a problem. Yes. As opposed to just keeping the problem under wraps. And think about it, it

Sinclair Kennally: will fight so hard for you and try to keep trying to repair and digest and detox and repair until its very last breath for you. Right. It is so on your side. It’s not

Kate Northrup: even funny. I’m gonna say something that may be obvious, but for those it wouldn’t be obvious for. Yeah. The reason that many allopathic treatments, medications, whatever, what have you, do not work is because they are essentially silencing the alarm bells that your body is sending with all the symptoms. And so the medications, I’ll just keep it there.

Like the prescriptions, interventions are just masking the symptoms, but doing nothing about why the symptom was there and what the symptom was trying to point to. So they’re not actually making you any better, which is why root cause healing, like you and Michael do, is so powerful because you’re getting all the way to the root. You’re actually listening for the symptoms and going to the source for

Sinclair Kennally: Yeah, true we’re respecting the symptom. Like what has gone wrong? Is the very good reason for this?

Kate Northrup: A problem.

Sinclair Kennally: Yeah, That’s a great way to say it. We call allopathic medicine suppressive medicine.

Kate Northrup: Yeah, that makes sense.

Sinclair Kennally: We call functional medicine, substitutive medicine.

Kate Northrup: Tell me about that.

Sinclair Kennally: Because you can, in functional medicine, can end up, and this is not the intention, but this is what’s happening in practice, is you can end up with $510,000 worth of labs. And you could say, oh, you’re low in these 37 markers. Here’s 37 supplements. It’s the green pharmacy. Instead of asking, well, why can’t my body make enough of that?

Or why isn’t my body absorbing enough of that on its own?

Kate Northrup: Yeah.

Sinclair Kennally: Because my body’s Right, so it’s a layer, it’s deeper

Kate Northrup: than functional medicine.

Sinclair Kennally: Yeah. Root cause medicine is not functional medicine.

Kate Northrup: Really important.

Sinclair Kennally: Functional medicine is substitutive in practice, you know? That’s not to shame anybody that’s doing it, it’s a wonderful step. But if you didn’t feel good, going the functional medicine route, if it didn’t fix your problems, there’s a deeper reason why. A lot of things that functional medicine is calling root causes are not root causes. Candida is not a root cause.

Candida is the body allowing that organism to pleomorph to hold something for you. It’s a strategy for survival. You know? It’s not a mistake.

Kate Northrup: So anyway. No, it’s so good. It’s so good. I’m just sorry. I just, I like was going in the way back machine in my mind.

I used to have a massive candida issue. Me too. Right? I just was thinking through

Sinclair Kennally: When I finally found my study

Kate Northrup: a bummer. That was a very uncomfortable time. Okay.

Sinclair Kennally: Yeah. Mistakes are And now Ignoring the nervous system. Ignoring the nervous system. Treating it like a mental illness when it’s not. Ugh.

Not dealing with the energy problem, not enough drainage and detox support, using crummy binders, or being arrogant and thinking you don’t need binders Mhmm. Which is a new wave of what’s happening on the Internet right now. Fascinating. Only use bioflavonoids, not binders, or I use four binders and no drainage support. It’s like, okay, can

Kate Northrup: I just teach you how to We’re do a trying to sop it up and then have it pass out?

Sinclair Kennally: Support excretion. We want to use the body’s own strategies.

Kate Northrup: Sop it up, support excretion. I want to know what you think about this before we move on to parasites.

Sinclair Kennally: Okay.

Kate Northrup: I have a friend, a wise friend. Yeah. And he said something to me that really stopped me in my tracks because after Mike had his whole journey, I really had a journey. And one of the things that I don’t know that I ever told you is that we discovered black mold in our condo in Miami. We did have it all handled.

But during that period of time, I got a fever every single month for eighteen months and got I was really sick and I gained a bunch of weight and I was- It was really a strange, strange time. And I had a friend who had a close person in their life who was dealing with systemic mold stuff and an ongoing, it was like an ongoing journey. And I also have many friends who it’s like mold has become their whole personality.

Sinclair Kennally: Mold magnets.

Kate Northrup: I just, I say this with so much compassion because for a time mold was my family’s whole personality, like my kids, me, my- so I get it. But he said to me, mold comes into people’s lives and gives them the opportunity to decide if they’re gonna play small or not. And I was like, oh my God, for me, that felt really true. It felt like mold had the energy of mold had opened this door and was like, hey, do you wanna come over here? Because if you come over here and have this be your whole thing, you don’t have to be out in the world dealing with other people.

You can lay on your bathroom floor and have a fever and opt out of all these other hard things in your life and in your career. And I am not saying this is true for anyone else. But for me, when I heard him say that sentence, I was like, I am at that threshold right now and I can feel it. And F that, I am not going to play small. So anyway, I’m just curious what you think.

Sinclair Kennally: Well, I love it and I hate it at the same time.

Kate Northrup: Sure, of course. I love that, yes. Great.

Sinclair Kennally: Because I think anytime we like use big language to assign, you know, one spiritual truth to something that has come into your life as if it’s for everybody, then we are denying the the richness for everyone. Correct. And I totally believe that for you. I believe that for me. That resonates for me.

Does it? But I also, part of my showing up was realizing I was gonna have to fight for my body. I was gonna have to fight to be here. Right. And I also know too much about how mold has been engineered as a bioweapon and used as a bioweapon both domestically and internationally and how it’s sprayed across things and added to things?

Kate Northrup: Because it does take you out.

Sinclair Kennally: It creates passivity. And so it is legal to add mycotoxins and weaponized yeast to manufactured foods. And they want to do it because it makes you eat more of the food. It hijacks Oh, so it’s like The signals.

Kate Northrup: Is mold in food addictive?

Sinclair Kennally: Yeah. And it also makes you passive. So one of my mentors, may he rest in peace, actually left a program. He was getting his doctorate, his PhD mycology, which is a study of mushrooms. And he was so upset and disillusioned because the whole way to get your degree was to find the mycotoxin that created the most passivity in the population and give it to the government of the United States.

That is so disturbing. He left academia. He walked hey. By the way, found it, and he didn’t share it with them. But it it is known that it is found and used now.

Like it’s and this isn’t like fringy. This isn’t edgy. This is confirmed over and over again. This has been declassified and shared like, oh, yeah. We sprayed that all over San Francisco during the sixties.

We want to see what would happen with the coastal vapor and the yada yada. Like, excuse me? What? There’s so much more to that story. So when somebody says that a toxin or that an illness is only at the spiritual level, I think there’s absolutely a spiritual truth to anything that we’re going through physically.

And I also wanna invite people to remember you’re on this physical plane for a reason, and we’re playing in these bodies in a very limited experience for a reason. You know? What is that for You know? And what I get nervous about when people say things like that and they do spiritual talk, I hear spiritual bypassing a lot when it comes to mold and parasites.

Kate Northrup: Okay.

Sinclair Kennally: And some of the bigger voices in the alternative health space, like bestselling authors, like, you know, some of the most treasured and fetid people right now, biggest followings are saying really uneducated things about parasites. And if they looked at the clinical data, I think they’d feel dumb. Okay. You know, like you don’t have parasites. Parasites will kill you immediately.

Kate Northrup: That’s not true. Saw them come out of me over and over and over again, and I was not dead. Okay. So now we’re on parasites and you already primed us earlier Did I? With, Michael having like a three foot thing come out of his bunk.

Sinclair Kennally: Big skull ex heads like, yeah. It’s a Yeah.

Kate Northrup: So gross. This is okay. So for anybody listening, this part’s gonna be gross. It’s Right? So I have told some of these stories to friends and they’re like, that’s not real.

And I’m like, I have the photographic evidence of what came out of me. And it was shocking to know that that was in me. And what are some of the signs and symptoms that people are unaware of are related to having oh my gosh. Why? Parasites?

Yeah. Parasites. So one of them would be brain fog and forgetting the names of things, I would imagine. Yep. Yeah.

It’s probably time for another round for me. Yep. Okay. So forgetfulness, brain fog, teeth grinding. Yes.

So these ones

Sinclair Kennally: But I also yes,

Kate Northrup: proxies I also and had an unbelievable urge to eat potato chips at night. Oh yeah. Like it felt like I had no choice. Yeah. Bizarre.

Sinclair Kennally: That’s not a willpower issue. That’s something hijacked your body. Yeah. Yeah. And but what do potato chips do for the body?

Sinclair Kennally: That’s not a willpower issue. That’s something hijacked your body. Yeah. Yeah. And but what do potato chips do for the body?

What does that support? Well, salt and fat together will blunt the cortisol response, which the parasites are jacking up at the wrong time of day so that you will be more inflamed and rest less deeply so you are easier to control. And oh, yeah, they love the high of the carbs and the high of the nightshade. Yeah. So bonus bonus.

Kate Northrup: Okay. And they also love sugar. Yeah. Right? I didn’t particularly have as much of the sugar cravings, but I know that’s a big one for people.

It’s like, especially with kids when you have a kid who is just, you know, sometimes you just meet that kid who just is like sneaking sugar, they’re just like And going back for the fourth I was that kid. So I, you know, so I know. I mean, I told my sister recently that I told my sister recently that she would take her Halloween candy and put it in her closet and she would eat like a nibble every three weeks and then forget about it. And I was like, yeah, and I ate it all in secret. And she was like, you did?

I was like, yeah, obviously. So anyway, that’s could be parasite related. I’m damn sure it was for me.

Sinclair Kennally: What else? Well, you gotta think like a parasite. So

Kate Northrup: Mhmm. Okay. Think like a parasite.

Sinclair Kennally: Well, the thing about that so everybody’s having this conversation about like toxins and mold and parasites, which I’m so excited about that they’re Totally. It’s also really hard to watch them do it in an

Kate Northrup: educated way, but it’s okay. We’re gonna get

Sinclair Kennally: there, guys. In a moment, we’re bringing everybody along. Yeah. People talk about them as if they are the same and they are not because toxins don’t have a consciousness. They don’t they have a frequency, so different metals will affect you emotionally in different ways, and they also get stored in different places of the body, so different symptomology there.

But mycotoxins are the poisons that mold creates. Mold is alive and colonizes, so are pathogen parasites. And there are different classes of parasites. So all these different species have different strategies. We actually I just said, f it.

We’re gonna make a huge document, and we’re going to give it away. And it’s called You’re Not Crazy. And I just dug in with my team, and we both pulled out all the clinical studies about how all these different parasite species create all these different symptoms. And you can see here’s a PubMed ID, doctor or husband or boyfriend or girlfriend, whoever’s not listening to you, I’m not crazy. You know, the the parasite issue is real and it’s clinically documented.

Skin issues, also big. We knew that that would be a huge issue for Mike because of the style of his skin issues.

Kate Northrup: The parasites. Yeah.

Sinclair Kennally: Yeah. And, so it’s very common for parasites to drive a histamine response and hijack your neurotransmitters. So that will have immune consequences and also mood consequences. So anxiety, major sign of parasites. Depression, brain fog, major sign of parasites.

Because when when they’re excreting their toxins, that’s endotoxins, it’s their toxic poop and pee, your immune system is having a response to that. And that’s getting set off not just in your gut where everybody thinks parasites only are all over the body. And certain species also will punch a hole in your gut lining and come in and out at will. Great. Yeah.

Right? My favorite one, well, second favorite is trematodes, the liver flukes because they yeah, come

Kate Northrup: in that’s wild.

Sinclair Kennally: On your And then they punch a hole through your small intestine and they swim to the liver. How do they know to do that?

Kate Northrup: When those come out, it’s like, it just looks like there’s- Little aliens. I mean, yeah, it’s weird. Okay. And they

Sinclair Kennally: have very different presentations. Some of them look like little skull faces on green mentos. Uh-huh. And some of them look like little lentils. Some of them look like grapefruit seeds with scary roots.

Yeah. It’s they’re all over the place. Okay. So anyway, they each have their own strategies

Kate Northrup: Know, right?

Sinclair Kennally: Welcome back.

Kate Northrup: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Sinclair Kennally: So whether they’re small, so microscopic, like what was hijacking my joints, or the larger worms, the helmets, and the cestodes, that’s your tapeworms, which are excreting poison that also hurts your joints. Like there’s so many reasons for your body to go, oh my god. We’re under attack. It’s mood, it’s skin, it’s gut, it’s energy, it’s sleep hijacking, it’s sensitivity to foods, it’s food cravings, it’s things like your hair falling out and, you know, hormone reproductive hormone issues. Your body is literally fighting for its life.

And the parasites eat at your table first. They steal whatever they want to from your food. So your nutrients, your iron, your B vitamins, like they’re running the show. So if someone listening is they’re they’re probably asking, how did I end up with these parasites in me? You know, I haven’t traveled all over the world.

I right?

Kate Northrup: We have this idea of like, oh, it’s because you took a trip and you got it and then whatever. No. Yeah. Where is it coming from?

Sinclair Kennally: Well, if you have ever touched an animal, stood barefoot on ground, like soil, stepped into a natural body of water, or eaten raw produce or slightly undercooked meat Or fish.

Kate Northrup: Yeah. Sushi.

Sinclair Kennally: Absolutely. You’ve been exposed to and ingested parasites.

Kate Northrup: Yeah.

Sinclair Kennally: So it’s not a question of if we’ve been exposed. Right. It’s more a question of are we a good host or not?

Kate Northrup: Awesome. Is your

Sinclair Kennally: immune system strong enough to say

Kate Northrup: To just clear them on

Sinclair Kennally: its Not today. Not today

Kate Northrup: on a parasite. So if you’re if you’re having all these, you know, in Mike’s case, for example, as our case study, he had these layers of reasons why his immune system was not able to clear them out on its own. So they got all backed up and then of course they are sexually transmitted. And so if your partner has them, you have them.

Sinclair Kennally: Yes. And if you sat next to somebody on a bus that coughed on you, you probably got coughed up some eggs from So the

Kate Northrup: what do we do as our first line of defense? Because I was aware that I was probably needing to do another round of a parasite cleanse, but then I sort of forgot the order of things. And then I started and I know I did it wrong because then I had all this stomach pain. So just as a cautionary tale, like probably don’t go rogue. Good call.

And just like order whatever, you know, you saw Even though

Sinclair Kennally: you know

Kate Northrup: it’s like a good no. Well, I do love it. Okay. You gotta give me a little more credit.

Sinclair Kennally: No. I wouldn’t.

Kate Northrup: But I yeah. I was you know, I went in with the with the products I know you use, and then I was like, I’m doing this wrong. So obviously, we’re not gonna give them the entire protocol, but I’m assuming you have, like, a good place to start on your website or, like, on demand webinar or something. Like, I know people want to solve this problem. Yeah.

Kate Northrup: And people are me. So where should I let’s pretend I don’t know you. Where should I go?

Sinclair Kennally: Okay. Well, that’s why we made rapid parasite release because and it’s it’s like a buffet of protocols, but everybody starts in the same place with safety foundations. You because you wanna work with the body’s own strategies for excretion. Good. So because these built up, but your body knows they’re there, and it’s not stupid.

It would like to tackle this at its earliest opportunity, but your parasites are also acting as toxins sponges for you, and your body’s allowing that to happen to protect your vital organs. So drainage is key, energy is key, safety is key. So we wanna think about it just in terms of the principles of the body. A moving stream runs clean. Mhmm.

Think about that part of a gorgeous stream running through a park, and it’s the where, you know, the bad kids hang out, and they’re throwing, like, their fast food wrappers into this one part. And it gets sad there. Right? Like, the algae blooms. And then what comes next?

Well, the fish get sick. And the birds don’t want to go there. The ducks will not enter that part of the stream until the stream speeds up and dilutes enough. So either upstream or downstream, but that is your point of vulnerability. And so that’s happening in the body, in the gut.

It’s happening in your lymphatics. It’s happening throughout your vital organs, in your liver. You know, you have 2,000 miles of bile ducts in your liver, and your trematodes, your liver flukes are really filling that up, and they’re having a heyday. You know? So let’s always think in terms of the order that the body would like to do this in and let the body run the show.

So nervous system support, mitochondrial support because parasites are so good at giving your body reasons to shut down energy production, right when you need it the most. Okay. So always mitochondrial support. Then we start with drainage, but from the bottom up, because you don’t want to try to flush a clogged toilet. You know?

So like what would happen? A really bad symptom and overflow. Gross. So if you’re constipated, which parasites love to create, many species will do that to you so that they have more time to feed. Because if your food is fermenting and sitting there and rotting, it’s changing in chemical composition.

It’s more fun for them, and they have more time to extract. So you need to be moving your bowels daily Yeah. For safety and for to reduce unnecessary symptoms. And then we wanna think about, you know, any additional gut motility support, liver support. So it’s like drainage support.

And there’s different types of liver support, guys. You’re not gonna milk thistle your way out of this. And most people are not healthy enough to just throw any old thing at the liver and see what happens. You know, it doesn’t feel good. You want to think about how your bile is probably a little bit on the sluggish side because most of ours have good reasons for that now.

So it’s like old motor oil that’s gonna irritate anything it touches on its way out the door. So we want bile builders, bile movers to thin it out, and anti inflammatory support for the liver. And then you can do things like push detox and speed it up. Great. And encourage those detox pathways to get more efficient again.

But it’s very complex.

Kate Northrup: Yeah. You don’t wanna just, like, start off with, like, killing off the parasites.

Sinclair Kennally: No. That’s that’s

Kate Northrup: You know what? Right. Just to be clear. Right. Thank you.

Don’t start there. Good summary. Because if you’re not if your drainage pathways are not open, I can’t I don’t even know what it just it’s I would imagine You get an overflow of symptoms. Uncomfortable, and then it makes it worse.

Sinclair Kennally: Wherever your points of vulnerabilities are. So you’ll get skin flares if you’re a skin person, you’ll get anxiety and existential dread if you’re like a nervous system person that’s, you know, your neurotransmitters Hello. Are already

Kate Northrup: It’s me.

Sinclair Kennally: I woke up a couple of years ago on Christmas with this overwhelming existential dread. And I was like, okay. And then I passed a parasite and I was like, oh,

Kate Northrup: I remember what all this felt like. But see, this is why we have to be educated because otherwise, if you just listen to the existential dread, now you’re down that rabbit hole and you know, you’re energetic. I mean, that’s

Sinclair Kennally: No amount of couples therapies can help.

Kate Northrup: No. No. And no amount of affirmations and no amount of, like, tapping. Right. I mean, you’re not gonna EFT your way out of parasites even though, yes, also let’s do tapping.

Sinclair Kennally: You will get more out if you tap, guys. You will get more out

Sinclair Kennally: You will get more out if you tap, guys. You will get more out

Kate Northrup: of your tap. Right. Right. Right. You can’t do that instead of

Sinclair Kennally: okay.

Kate Northrup: So this may seem like a hard left, and I’m sure people have a million questions. So they’re just going to have to come find you because we could go for hours and you have so many incredible educational opportunities for people. But if they sense that parasites are their thing, rapid parasite Release. Release. Okay.

Good. So they’ll find that on your website. We’ll put it in the show notes. Okay. I wanna ask you.

Sinclair Kennally: Oh, god. That’s so good.

Sinclair Kennally: Oh, god. That’s so good.

Kate Northrup: What happens for people in this journey around money?

Sinclair Kennally: Well, I think a lot of the root cause resolution, if we’re thinking about it in terms of an initiation into the deeper self, you will have to face the blocks that are keeping you from who you have become.

And I think about this, there’s a corner of the internet and I don’t want to hurt anybody’s feelings, but I have to say this.

Kate Northrup: It’s okay, maybe they’re not listening. No, they are. They love you.

Sinclair Kennally: They’re like, my revolutionary act is to lie down. Okay, let’s talk about that. And how they get to be, somehow freedom is playing small, and that’s actually their deepest truth. And my question to them is always, who would you be if you had enough energy and if you felt safe in your own body and at home in it. Because I guarantee you, you would not want to lie down for very long.

Kate Northrup: Well, and so that’s what was going on with me with the mold. Yeah. Right? I completely agree, we cannot blanket statement anything. But for me, was like, I can feel this beckoning to me to lay down for the rest of my life.

That is not the life I am choosing, but I can feel an opportunity to off ramp into that life right now. And I just was like, that’s not going to be for me this time around. And so perhaps you may need to lay down for a while, but then

Sinclair Kennally: also like what is life inviting you into and is your fullest expression laying down? Yeah. So we think about secondary gain. What is the benefit to having this problem? What is the benefit to having these symptoms, to having no energy, and what will be required of you at a spiritual level once you are well?

And so I think about money as the same conversation as physical health for that reason. Who would you be without these interesting patterns and money blocks that just keep coming up? You know? And for me, I had to get financially devastated and lose everything and be very, very sick at the same time in order to realize that I’m still worthy, that I’m still lovable, and watch the most important people in my life abandon me and discover that anyway. When I overnight had no money anymore and the people that disappeared, I was like, talk about parasites,

Kate Northrup: Talk about parasites.

Sinclair Kennally: Amazing, right? And then when I worked my way back into a big practice again, I had to do another round of money clearing because I was falling into old patterns of like, I have more energy than you, and I’m naturally generous. I’ll just take care of that. I’ll just take care of that bill. I’ll fly you in.

I’ll make sure you get to that wedding. I’ll just pick up a check for everybody. I was like, wait a minute.

Kate Northrup: I call that financial codependency.

Sinclair Kennally: Yes. It’s another sneaky way to try to earn love and And

Kate Northrup: we think it’s generosity and we think it’s taking care of people. Yes. And it can be. So we, you know, no one could ever know from the outside, right? Like I’m not going around judging people, but once they tell me what’s going on on the inside, that’s how you know, because generosity feels different than codependency.

Sinclair Kennally: Yeah, generosity is a choice And you can do it or not and be okay either way. Right. Exactly. Exactly. But if you don’t feel okay not picking that checkup, then something’s wrong.

And you probably have parasites.

Kate Northrup: And you probably have parasites. And the inside Yeah. And the outside. Oh, it’s so good. Yeah.

So good. It’s so bad. It’s such an opportunity. Yes. And as someone who has gone through and cleared a lot of parasites on the inside and the outside, I cannot even say enough about the level of vitality and freedom and life force that’s available on the other side of that release.

And it is uncomfortable. It is uncomfortable to address like, hey, I’m not actually going to be your source of life force anymore. I’m going to use that life force for myself and for larger acts of creation and for other things. But when you regain it, it’s like, woah. Right?

When I started doing my parasite cleanse for the first time, some relationships in my life definitely shifted. And my friends were like, You look so different. What are you doing? And I was like, I’m just not being a life force source for people, places, and beings who are not also supporting me. You know, I mean, that’s obviously what a parasite is.

That’s different than a symbiotic relationship. Yeah. It’s a parasitic relationship where only one benefits.

Sinclair Kennally: Yes. Long arm for taking, short arm forgiving, as my father-in-law would say.

Kate Northrup: Oh, it’s so good. Okay. Sinclair, this was the best. You so much for everything that you’ve done for my family, and thank you for the work that you do in the world. I know you’ve charted a really unpaved path, and it takes a lot of courage.

So thanks for who you are. If people want to connect with you, where should they go do so? I know you have an amazing podcast. You have an incredible center in Carlsbad, California. Where should they go?

Sinclair Kennally: You can go to detoxnation.com. That’s where all of our online education is in our virtual health practice. And then Salis Center is in Carlsbad. We’d love to see you there. And Toxin University is our year long certification for practitioners.

Amazing. Because the tools we went to school to learn are not enough. And so faster we address it, better people get, you know. I love you. Thank you.

Thank you for this, such a full circle moment. You know, I think we’ve midwifed each other through a lot of life transitions. We have. You know?

Kate Northrup: We have. I’m so

Sinclair Kennally: grateful to you. So grateful to you. Thank you. If
