On Monday morning Mike and I sat in the auditorium at our kids’ school listening to a presentation about the new school year.
My appreciation for my life and for the man I get to do it all beside was so overflowing that I reached over and squeezed his knee. The whole morning as we stood in circles of parents listening to protocols and plans, I wanted to hold his hand, put my hand on his arm, or just be close (in a school appropriate way, of course 😉)
The surge of yummy energy also had a lot to do with the fact that this is the second year at the school and we’re finally not moving at the end of the school year.
Stability is actually sexy once we unhook from using the adrenaline that comes from change as the primary fuel source of our lives.
The spark in our marriage after 15 years together sometimes feels like a miracle. Between the pregnancies, birth recovery, years of nursing, and years of Mike being sick or injured, we had loooong dry spells. Crispy, even. I had times when I didn’t want anything to do with Mike, let alone wanting to get with him in an elementary school orientation.
(If you’re new here and you want to hear our story of accidents, illness, and making it through, here it is.)
They say the spark goes out the longer you’re together, but for us it’s been the opposite of late. The more we pour into our individual aliveness and our shared aliveness, the better our marriage gets. Physically, emotionally, and yes, financially.
Our relationship with power shows up in our money and in our sex lives.
Erotic energy (which doesn’t have to be sexual) is a measure of our Life Force and is directly related to our power. Not power over others – personal power.
One of our Money Dates in Relaxed Money is about Money, Sex, and Power, and every time I lead it, the chat blows up with wild recognition and our students seeing their own patterns clearly for the first time.
The more we become conduits of Life Force energy, the more spark we feel in our relationships — and the more room there is for abundance, including in the bank account.
If your spark has gone out in your partnership, in your relationship with money, or just your relationship to life itself, this week’s episode of Plenty is for you.
Stefanos Sifandos, a master love and relationship coach who also happens to be married to one of my dearest friends, is on the podcast and it’s all about:
Why the Spark Fades in Long-Term Relationships — and the One Practice That Brings Desire Back
Listen in for your sex life. Listen in for your financial life. Listen in for life itself.
I can’t wait to hear what it ignites for you. Reply and let me know!
Xo,
Kate
P.S. If part of you is filing this under “relationship content,” listen closer.
The same current that fuels desire fuels your capacity for money. Shut one down and the other dims right alongside it.
Stefanos and I get into all of it.
