The 6 specific ways I make money and the beauty of multiple streams of income.

I’m writing this to you from the Equator aboard the largest cruise ship in the world.

Mike and I aren’t really cruise people, but we won this all expenses paid trip for being one of the top growers last year with our product partner, USANA Health Sciences and we’re having a ball!

(The other day I took a Chicago dance class in a venue called Dazzlers on board where we learned choreography to All That Jazz. Seriously – so fun!)

We’re not only not paying for this amazing vacation, we’re still making money this week even though we’re not working (aside from me writing to you.)

And no, it’s not because we have so many weeks of paid vacation per year. It’s because we’ve been smart about where we’ve put our energy. We’ve learned to invest our time in streams of income that pay us over and over again for work we’ve done once.

I’m not telling you this to brag. I’m telling you this because I want to make sure you know it’s possible.

Mike and I live a lifestyle of freedom because we’ve created multiple streams of income that pay us whether we’re working or not. And I want you to know exactly how we do it so that you can do it too.

When both of us got started in business (me at the age of 18 and Mike at 21) neither of us knew anything about residual income or creating multiple streams of income. We had to study it and put it into practice.

Today’s episode of Financial Freedom Friday is the second to last in the series and it’s a good one. (Not that they all aren’t good – but this one is particularly practical.)

This is great, Kate! I’ve been working on creating multiple streams of income, but it definitely feels a little overwhelming at times to give them all my attention. You’re right about focus preventing overwhelm – I really need to laser focus on one area at a time until it becomes stable and thriving. Perfectly timed advice, as always!

Kate, this video and your advice is incredible. I’m just sad that this is the first video of yours I’m seeing.

I LOVE your work and am totally gelling with everything you’re saying. The fact that you advise going with ONE THING–and that cementing and excelling in that one thing may take 3 to 5 years–is such amazing acknowledgement and validation that hard work takes awhile but totally pays off. We often lose the perspective that it’s important to put in the effort now for not only what will pay off right away, but for the long term. (I’m also reading The ONE Thing right now by Gary Keller and Jay Papasan, so this idea is running all over my brain these days). Kudos on succinctly sharing a great, true message. :)

Great video Kate! Especially as an entrepreneur its so important to have multiple streams of income. But I do like that you mention that you need to start with one stream of income. It can be easy to get overwhelmed and this is a good way to break it down.

My low hanging fruit is building up my massage practice. I spent 3 years building that up and I have now added network marketing with doTERRA which is turning out to be a great retail match for my massage business.

I appreciate your honesty. I have been feeling the pressure from various side to join network marketing “schemes” and I can’t help but feel hesitant/skeptical. I see your success, along with Elizabeth Rider’s, and I am glad it has been such a successful mission for you both.

I again really appreciate your honesty and advice. We have to really focus on one before trying to create all 5! In the beginning stages of building something, one can really want to try and do as much as possible to create income. It’s that tricky place of living between patience and productivity :)
